During the four days that make up Art in the Open Philadelphia, I plan on allowing the activities surrounding the event, as well as the environment in which we will be participating, determine the direction of my work. Being a plein air landscape painter, it is important for me to allow these conditions to suggest where and how I should work. My hope is that I will complete a series of paintings that capture the overall festival. Part of my work is about the experience in which the piece is created, and Art in the Open Philadelphia is an excellent opportunity for me to test myself as an artist.
